When we start a business, pride blocks us from giving assistance, but also it blocks us from asking for help. Trust me, Ive been on both sides of the coin and it sucks.
Is it possible to OUTGROW your Church?
"Sometimes a good thing, sometimes a bad thing, but the church accepts those from all walks off life, backgrounds and intelligence levels."
Though the above statement is debatable, I understood the powerful point my Pastor was trying to make in our last meeting. When I review my journey at my current/past church I can't help but ask myself if I have "OUTGROWN" my church? It is important to note that I'm not referring to outgrowing my church SPIRITUALLY but more mentally and those effects it has on my spiritual journey.
Graduating college has become one of greatest accomplishments, as well as one of my biggest disappointments. I truly cherished the experience because I was able to meet individuals from all walks of life who all shared at least ONE common goal, receiving a secondary education. In receiving my education I continued my journey of studying religion, this time in a secular environment. While studying various topics of religion I realized how much information I was learning that I would NEVER receive across the pulpit. After further investigation I receive the quote above.
Now, although i don't like the thought of NOT being educated I do understand my Pastors logic in this situation.
