5 Tips to Grow Your Brand
Recently I had the opportunity to host a Facebook Live discussion, via my Chimeras Dream page on ways small business owners and entrepreneurs could grow their brands! Weekly I run into new business owners who are too lost and confused to take a leap and market their brands. Check out some of these tips and always, give me some feedback.
Before I fully dive into this tip, I believe it's very important for business owners to understand, not everyone is going to support you, this includes family. Trust me, if you expect your family and close friends to support you at every turn, or majority of turns, you're setting yourself up to be disappointed.
Create YOUR Team
EVERYONE NEEDS A TEAM! When creating your brand or business, your team should include four types of individuals: A Watcher, Supporter, Critic & Motivator.
- Watcher: Simply a individual who watches everything you do. Their important really shows because they will let you know when your message is reaching the masses. While a watcher may not share or like everything, each time they see you, they will mention "I saw or I heard...". CAUTION: Be weary of this individual because watching could turn into envy.
- Supporter: No matter what you post or promote, this individual or individuals will share, like and support everything. The greatest part: you will never find yourself asking them, they will do it out of pure love. Each time there's an opportunity to mention you, they will. Each time someone is seeking a brand similar to yours, you will see this person sharing your information.
- Critics: Critics play a vital role because they will sharpen your skills and keep you on tract with your vision. Also they will be another point of view when you believe you have everything figured out. Pushing these individuals away can be was, but note your business will suffer. You need a critic, but they shouldn't know you need them. CAUTION: Be careful and make sure your critics don't become "haters" and always make sure you have a clear mind on the difference.
- Motivators: What motivates you is a great question, but WHO motivates you is a better and more important question! Every great brand is motivated by great individuals and/ or other brands that helps them to push forward. Personally my motivators are other entrepreneurs I see accomplishing their goals. Each time I notice these brands growing, it causes me to push harder and "keep up" or "take the lead".
FINAL THOUGHTS: Pay attention to your team. Don't ignore them and don't shame them for playing their part. Not every member of your team has to know their role within your organization. As stated before, multiple individuals can fill a role, so understand teams evolve and grow.
