Rusted copper shackles clanged together creating a symphony of horrific sounds that permeated the wooden vessel bound for the Americas. Underscoring the soundtrack of metallic scrapes were the moans and groans of hundreds of human cattle that were to be sold, bought, worked, and mated until dead. These black faced "savages" birthed a generation of future slaves, those slaves birthed generations of oppressed peoples which breathed life into generations of transcendentalist dreamers to the likes of: Zora Neale Hurston, Countee Cullen, WEB Du Bois, James Baldwin, Langston Hughes, Jackie Robinson, and Maestro Moses Hogan.
With their success and inspiring radicalism, they motivated millions of, not just African American, but global citizens to fight tooth and nail to achieve what we know to be, the sometimes 'unattainable' success story. Through painting, photography, works of literature, activism, theater arts, and cinema, hundreds of thousands of people began achieving successes that were once unheard of. Rags to riches stories began emerging from all walks bringing with it more motivation and inspiration that has found its way to this generation's most prolific talent, Gavin Boulware.
To understand Gavin's thirst is to dig below the surface in search of the emerald of passion that lies within. Upon meeting Gavin during my collegiate matriculation, I was unaware of his story, his passion, his gift. It wasn't until I exposed my personal goals that I realized that I staring in the eyes of my generations transcendentalist. Gavin, by all accounts will transcend his industry and along with it, the world into another era of passionate affirmation. His passion for activism, art, and life has sparked in me a fire that fuels my career; I know he has done the same for others. This world is his canvas, his mind is his brush, his words the paint. Join me and the rest of our global community as we witness the emergence of his masterpiece.
Thank you to the ancestors for this motivation.
